Why Locals Love Kami Sushi Japanese Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Setia Ecohill, Kami Sushi Japanese Restaurant offers a delightful culinary escape into the world of authentic Japanese flavors—crafted thoughtfully with halal-certified ingredients, catering warmly to both locals and visitors alike. This sushi haven champions a fresh and affordable dining experience without ever compromising on quality or taste.
The menu at Kami Sushi is a celebration of classic Japanese fare with a generous local touch. Popular dishes such as the Unagi Don, featuring perfectly grilled eel glazed to a caramelized finish and laid atop fluffy rice with tamago, offers a comforting, smoky sweetness that lingers with every bite. The Hotate Toji Don, a generous serving of fresh scallops gently cooked with egg over rice, showcases a silky texture and delicate oceanic flavor that melts on the palate. For those craving a heartier option, the Tori Nanban Don presents fried chicken chop tangibly crispy on the outside, softened by a vibrant tangy tartar sauce—a truly satisfying harmony of textures and taste.
On the sushi side, enticing choices abound with options like the Tuna Mayo and Cheesy Chu Maki, each piece thoughtfully prepared to deliver bursts of umami-rich flavors paired with the subtle sweetness of vinegared rice. The Mini Bowls such as the Spicy Salmon Mini Bowl, featuring minced salmon with a spicy Ginza sauce, provide a quick yet fulfilling option that feels indulgent without being heavy.
Walking into Kami Sushi, you're greeted by a casual and comfortable ambiance that encourages relaxed dining, perfect for both solo food lovers and groups. The friendly and attentive service heightens the experience, as genuine smiles accompany every dish served. Whether it's a weekday lunch or a cozy dinner, the atmosphere feels intimate yet inviting.
Customers consistently rave about the freshness of the ingredients and the generous portion sizes, making each visit a rewarding affair. Ann-Marie Khor praises the crispiness of the fish skin and the delicate texture of the agedashi tofu, while Dir appreciates the halal certification clearly marked at the entrance, underlining the restaurant’s commitment to inclusivity and quality. Affordability is a sweet spot here, with many dishes priced below RM 15, making it an accessible option for those seeking great Japanese cuisine without straining the wallet.
Kami Sushi also stands out for its quick service and convenient parking, easing the often-hectic dining-out experience. It’s no surprise customers like Edward Chin have become repeat patrons, and with each visit, the restaurant continues to impress with its fresh sashimi and thoughtfully executed dishes.
Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or someone eager to explore halal Japanese cuisine in a welcoming setting, Kami Sushi Japanese Restaurant promises a delicious journey filled with authentic flavors, great value, and heartfelt hospitality.

Reasonably priced halal Japanese food – what more can you ask for? Really like the simple concept that’s executed well. Squid was super fresh, and every food item we ordered was actually good – fish skin was crispy, agedashi tofu had a lovely texture and they were generous with the bonito flakes, and so on. Staff were also friendly and attentive. Honestly, wouldn’t drive here all the way from KL for it, but if you’re around the area and craving for Japanese, this will hit the spot without burning a hole into your wallet. Apologizing in advance for the photos of food that’s been eaten - we were too hungry

My first time eating here after being recommended by my love one. Sooooo good. I specifically love the sashimi here. Fresh and the portion was mouth fulled. I highly recommend to eat here. Thousand times better than SK, NS and any other sushi place I've been. The service was also good. Friendly staff. Love the instrumental music selection. Will definitely return here. Wishing this business prosperity

A medium size suburb neighbourhood dining eatery that has sushi conveyor belt and ala carte menu, similar concept to Sushi Mentai out lay & service. A simple looking place with attentive yet quiet servers, clean & comfortable ambient. Food was beyond my expectation so that is a pleasant surprise. Especially their salmon soup & Hana Mayo sushi. And ala-carte orders were delivered fast. Overall satisfied with dining experience and In Shaa Allah will visit again.

Simple and decent Japanese style food. Ingredients in general are fresh, taste of the food is okay. Been here a couple of times and standard is roughly the same, good that they are keeping it constant.
